Real-Time Camera Streaming

R&D internship work at Multitek: streaming RTSP camera feeds to a React Native app over WebRTC, with a custom signaling server and NAT traversal.

During my R&D software engineering internship at Multitek (June–July 2026), I worked on real-time streaming and connectivity for embedded IoT hardware.

What I built

  • Live video in a mobile app. A React Native application that plays real-time RTSP camera feeds over WebRTC, using go2rtc to bridge RTSP to WebRTC.
  • Signaling. A Node.js and WebSocket signaling server that sets up and manages the peer connections.
  • Connectivity. STUN/TURN servers and network tunnels configured so streams connect reliably behind NAT and firewalls.
  • Device setup. Root-level autostart shell scripts for ARM64 Android gateway devices, so the stack comes up on boot.

Stack

WebRTC, go2rtc, React Native, Node.js, WebSocket, STUN/TURN, shell scripting on ARM64 Android.

The work was internal to Multitek, so there is no public repository; the cover is a diagram of the setup.
